‘focus’ provides employment to around 180 people throughout the Mornington Peninsula and surrounding areas.
Understandably, the vast majority of our employees are working in support roles where they assist people who have disabilities to achieve their individual goals and aspirations. These support roles may be in our accommodation services or in our community support and training services, including recreation and respite services.
![]() We also employ people within our corporate infrastructure area. These roles range from office duties through to maintenance and driving positions. Employment may be on a full time, part time or casual basis and we are pleased to receive enquiries from anyone who is interested in exploring the range of options that may be available throughout our organisation. Due to the need to fill shifts covering 24hours per day, seven days per week it is not unusual for us to have positions available, particularly for casual staff. This type of employment will often lead to a permanent position when such positions become available and therefore, it may be beneficial to talk to us about joining our ‘pool’ of casual workers. Whilst it may often be an advantage to have relevant experience and/or qualifications, the lack of these should not deter interested people who feel that they have the personal characteristics to successfully work in this area. ![]() We offer opportunities for workplace training and, where appropriate, we will arrange formal traineeships to undertake the Certificate IV level course in Disability Studies. Throughout their period of employment with us, staff members will participate in our ongoing staff development program. We have a fully equipped Training facility at our Dromana premises and key members of our management team have the necessary qualifications and experience to deliver a range of ‘in-house’ seminars and modular programs that are designed to ensure that our staff have access to pertinent and ‘up to date’ information to assist them in their work roles. ![]() It is our aim to provide our staff with optimal conditions of employment that will create a working environment in which each person can gain satisfaction and pleasure from the knowledge that they are working for an organisation that values their input into meeting our mission that each person we assist can genuinely say that “I am living the life I want”. ![]() Appointment to any position, including casual work, is subject to a satisfactory ‘criminal records check’ and completion of a ‘pre-existing injuries’ form. Enquiries about employment with us can be directed to any of our Coordinators or by e-mail to info@focuslife.com.au. |
