‘focus’ operates under the governance of a seven member board of Directors, each of whom, has specific skills and
interests that are relevant to the various aspects of our organisational activity. Provision is made to ensure that the board
must include a minimum of two directors who are either parents or siblings of people who are receiving support through our services.

The members of the Board are:
Emil ( Tony) Negri OAM Chairman.
Tony is the Managing Director of his own company operating in the 'earth moving' industry. He has previously served as
Chairman of another disability service organisation. Tony was instrumental in the formation of both Kindilan Society
and the other organisation and his achievements in services to people who have adisability was recognised by the award of an
Order of Australia Medal.
Peter Fischer
Peter is a solicitor and founding partner of his city based legal firm. Peter has previously served on a number of
Boards in the health & welfare sectors.
Daniel ( Dan) Heffernan
Dan is now recently retired from business ownership in both automotive and waste management industries.
Christopher ( Chris) Rogers.
Chris is now retired from his previous role as a business owner in the automotive service industry. Chris has been
particularly involved in the important area of fundraising and remains the Board's formal link to this function.
Alan Steart
Alan is now retired after a professional career in teaching and educational administration, particularly in the
area of 'special education'. Alan is a past Chairman and current Director of another disability support service.
Dorothy Tagg
A Librarian by profession, Dorothy has been a long time coordinator of our fundraising activities to ensure
that our organisation has an effective income stream from a successful ‘second hand goods’ retail outlet in Mont Albert.
Paul Williams
Paul is a professional engineer who currently works as the Managing Director of his own geotechnical consultancy business.
Paul brings his general and project management skills to the Board
The Chief Executive Officer, Peter Brookhouse, attends all meetings of the Board in an ‘ex-officio’ capacity.
Peter has professional experience in rehabilitation, health service governance, public policy development and
disability service management. His tertiary education at graduate & post-graduate level is in the fields of
Special Education; Business (Health) Administration; Rehabilitation Counselling; and Bioethics.
